We'll hear old field recordings and new commentaries in blues from Cedell Davis, Guitar Slim, Christone "Kingfish" Ingram, Irma Thomas and Lucinda Williams. Then, it's Cajun, zydeco, waltzes, two-steps and swamp pop soul from Beau Jocque, Clifton Chenier and Carol Fran. Plus an interview and live performance from younger traditionalists Cedric Watson and Chris Stafford on French Louisiana accordion and fiddle in Creole zydeco and Cajun music.

Then, we head to Cape Breton Island in Maritime Canada for a visit with fiddler Wendy MacIsaac of the band Beolach, along with other Nova Scotia Scots Gaelic classics... and finally some down home American folks.

Nick hosts the evening of music and stories, honoring the nation's finest practitioners of traditional arts. This year's fellows include singer-pianist Carol Fran, traditional Irish musician Seamus Connolly, Sacred Harp singer David Ivey, Chicano musician-activist Ramon "Chunky" Sachez, Gypsy traditional musician Nicolae Feraru.
